Fond of time travel? Listen closely… Bach to 2008 is a creation at the crossroads of spirituality and sonority. A meeting between classically-trained, electronic and jazz musicians, who decided to leave well-trod territory behind to create something entirely unheard of. They've managed, in an amazing feat, to reconcile the irreconcilable, combining seemingly diametrically-opposed worlds in this sacred space that has survived the centuries. The cathedral organ, played by Thomas Lacôte, the sixteen strings of the Musique Nouvelles Ensemble, the subtle sounds of Murcof and the atmospheric trumpet of Ibrahim Maalouf come together to bring classic and contemporary works to life. Certain pieces are already widely renowned (Bach, Rachmaninoff…), while others, having been composed especially for the occasion, are waiting to be discovered (Ibrahim Maalouf).
